Singapore is one of the close country to our India. Most of the foods from sinapore have the similar flavour from Both India and China. This recipe is the best example for the above statement. It has a different flavour from chinese noodles, normally we use to have. Its nice to have it for the party and also for kids, try it.
Ingredients:
1. Mixed vegetables - 1 cup ( capsicum, carrot, cabbage, mushrooms)
2. Hakka Noodles - 200 gms
3. Ginger garlic - 1 tbs, finely chopped
4. Curry masala powder - 1 tsp or as required
5. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp or as required
6. Crushed pepper powder - 1/2 tsp or as required
7. Salt - as required
8. Oil - 2 tbs for cooking
9. All purpose flour - 1 1/2 tsp
10. Water - 1/4 cup for cooking
Method:
1. Heat 6-7 cups of water in a vessel, and allow to boil nicely. Add a 1 tsp of salt to the boiling water and the noodles to the water. Cook as per the prescribed timings in the noodles packet. Genreally it won't take more than 4-5 minutes. Once the noodles are cooked well, drain all the water and keep the noodles in a seperate bowl.
2. Heat oil in a pan, add chopped ginger and garlic. Fry for 1 minute. Add the chopped vegetables. Keep the stove in high flame. Keep stirring for 2-3 minutes without taking hands.
3. Add curry masala powder, red chilli powder, salt powder and keep stirring.
4. Mix 1 1/2 tsp of all purpose flour with 1/4 cup of water without any lumps and pour the mixture to the the pan. Cook for 30 seconds. Add the cooked noodles to the pan and stir well until the noodles and the spices get coated well.
5. Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
