Ingredients for samosa:

1. Maida / All purpose flour - 1 cup
2. Salt - a pinch
3. Water - enough to prepare the batter
4. Oil - for deep frying and greasing

Ingredients for filling:

1. fried gram dhal ( chutney dhal) - 1/2 cup
2. Regular white sugar - 1/2 - 3/4 cup according to taste
3. Grated coconut - 1/4 cup ( optional)

Method:

1. Take a wide bowl, add maida. Add a pinch of salt and mix together.

2. Add enough water slowly, and prepare a nice dough as you use to prepare for roti and chappathi. After finish preparing the dough, you can test the consistency of the dough by its stickiness. It should not stick your hand. After making the dough, apply a tsp of oil all over the dough and leave it for 1 hour. Cover the dough with a  air- tight lid.

3. Add fried gram dhal and sugar to a blender and powder it. Transfer the powder to a small bowl, mix the grated coconut to the sugar mixture and keep it ready for filling. It is recommended to use the grated coconut after dry roasting it on a pan for few minutes.

4. Make a small lemon size balls out of the prepared maida dough. Flatten it to a round shape, by a rolling pin. Keep the prepared coconut filling on one half side of the circle. Now join both the edges of the circle and give a nice press over the edges with your hand or with a fork.

5. Prepare the same for rest of the dough and filling and keep it ready without sticking to each other on a big plate.

6. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying. Once the oil gets to medium heat, drop each prepared samosa to the oil on batches and fry it golden brown on the both the sides.

7. Transfer it to a tissue paper to absorb extra oil. Your sweet samosa is now ready .

Note:

1. You can add one cardamom while grinding sugar for a flavour.
2. You can decide the size of the samosa to big or small as you wish.
