Ingredients:
1. Beetroot - 1 medium size
2. Beasan flour - 2 tbs
3. Rice flour - 1 tbs
4. Red chilli powder - as required
5. Salt - as required
6. Jeera - 1/2 tsp
7. Salt - as required
8. Oil - for deep frying
Method:
1. Peel out the outer skin from the beetroot and grate it and keep it seperately.
2. Take a wide bowl, drop the grated beetroot into the bowl. If you grate the beetroot just before deepfrying, you can add it directly to the bowl. If you want to grate it before and keep it ready when ever you are required, filter and squeeze out all the water from the grated beetroot before starting the cooking process.
3. After transfering beetroot into the bowl mix besan flour, rice flour, salt, red chilli powderand jeera to it.
4. No need to add water to this mixture. If the beetroot is so dry. its just enough to sprinkle few drops of water to make the consistency where beetroot and all other ingredients blends together.
5. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying. Once the oil gets heated you can drop the batter into few balls or just drop the batter in any shape into the oil. Once it get cooked transfer the fried beetroot pakoda to a tissue paper to absorb extra oil.
6. Other than a snack, you can serve this as a side dish with sambhar rice and rasam rice as a casual dish at your home.
