This is a traditional recipe passed from our ancestors and I love to share with you people to enjoy our traditional foods. A very healthy and tasty dish, it can also be taken as a evening tiffen.
Ingredients:
1. Millets - 1 cup
2. Raw rice - 1 cup
3. Salt - As required
4. Oil - for cooking
Method:
1. Grind millets and raw rice into a corse meal like rava and keep it seperately.
2. Boil 2 cups of water in a thick bottom vessel, once the water starts to boil add the grind millets and rice with salt.
3. Once the millet mixture gets cooked well, transfer to a bowl. Press the mixture nicely to avoid any lumps. Once it comes to room temperature, shape it into balls and give a gentle press with your palm so that it will become flat.
4. Prepare all the batter to patties and keep it ready.
5. Heat a tawa ( dosa pan or a shallow pan) add few drops of oil on each patties and toast it for 2-3 sides on both the sides. If you want you can add little bit more oil for extra taste and crispiness.
4. It will be crispi outside and soft inside. It is easily digestable for both elders and kids. Serve hot with Red onion chutney.
Note: Cleaning pearl millets should be given more importance as it will be having more dirts and stones.
