CORIANDER CHUTNEY 2

This coriander chutney is suitable for the persons, who cannot add coconut on their diet. But still the chutney gives the nutty flavour.

Ingredients:

1. Coriander - 1/2 bunch
2. Urud dhal - 1/2 tbs
3. Channa dhal - 1 tbs
4. Onions - 1 big size, chopped
5. Red chillies - 4-5
6. Tamarind - a small piece, just for the tangyness.

Seasoning:

1. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
2. Jeera - 1 tsp
3. urud dhal - 1/2 tsp
4. Curry leaves - 4-5
5. Oil - as required

Method:

1. Clean the coriander leaves in the running water, without any dirt. Chop the coriander bunch by removing its thicker stems.

2. Heat 1 tbs of oil in a pan. Add urud dhal, channa dhal, red chillies, tamarind. Fry until they get the golden brown. Add the chopped onions, fry for 1 more minute. Add salt.

3. Add the chopped coriander leaves, give a stir and switch off the stove. The heat in the pan is enough for the coriander to get cooked.

4. Once all the items gets cool, grind it to a fine paste in a blender by adding required amount of water, little by little.

5. Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl. Season it with mustard seeds, urud dhal, jeera and curry leaves.
